WARRENVILLE, Ill. (AP) - An Alabama trucking company has ordered 325 International tractors to pull its steel-hauling trailers, the truck and bus manufacturer Navistar International Inc. announced Thursday. The order came from Boyd Brothers Transportation of Clayton, Ala., which specializes in time-sensitive transportation of steel products and building materials, Navistar said in a statement. Navistar's statement did not say the value of the contract with Boyd Brothers. The tractors are equipped with advanced exhaust gas recirculation diesel engines that meet 2010 U.S. Environmental Protection Agency pollution standards. Boyd Brothers has 1,000 trucks in its fleet, including 60 International tractors that meet 2007 EPA standards. The company has logged more than 8 million miles on the trucks and is happy with the performance and fuel economy, according to Navistar. |
