May 17, 2010 Diesel fuel injection equipment manufacturer Stanadyne Corp. has announced that John Pinson joined the company as vice president and chief technology officer. Dr. Pinson most recently served as vice president, Diesel and Large Engines for Ricardo, an engineering company specializing in internal combustion engines and also was the acting vice president, Business Development and Marketing for Ricardo. Prior to that, Dr. Pinson spent 14 years with General Motors R&D organization where he worked in both diesel and gasoline technologies. He holds both an undergraduate and masters degree in Mechanical Engineering from Clemson University. He earned a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, with a focus in diesel combustion technology, from Pennsylvania State University. Dr. Pinson also has an MBA from the University of Michigan. As the new vice president and chief technology officer at Stanadyne, Dr. Pinson will lead development of Stanadyne’s next generation diesel common rail, gasoline direction injection, aftertreatment injection and filtration technology development efforts. He will also coordinate and expand global engineering work as Stanadyne expands its new facilities in India and China to complement the existing technical centers in the U.S. and Italy. Stanadyne produces technology and services for engine components and fuel systems including diesel fuel injection and filtration systems, and oil and fuel supply pumps used in agricultural, construction, industrial, and automotive vehicle and equipment applications. The company is headquartered in Windsor, Conn., and has facilities in the United States, Italy, India, and China. |
